The York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority was established as a new organisation in early 2024. It is a public sector employer with access to powers and funding to unlock transport and housing improvements, boost skills provision and help the economy transition to net zero for York and North Yorkshire. The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of The Connect to Work Programme in York and North Yorkshire. The Programme, a major element of the Government's Get Britain Working Strategy, aims to support disabled people, those with health conditions and people with complex barriers to employment, to seek to find sustainable work. You will be a part of a small, multi-disciplined team, responsible for leading the development and delivery of the Connect to Work Programme offer to employers. You will work with employers and delivery partners to help shape programme delivery and co-ordinate engagement. You will also provide a brokerage service to employers to provide support to help them develop inclusive workplaces.

What you will bring

To be successful you will have in depth knowledge of employers and their challenges, and a developed knowledge of the business support services across York and North Yorkshire. You will have proven experience of building effective relationships and partnerships and have the ability to interpret, analyse and communicate intelligence and data to shape delivery of programmes.

You will also possess

• The ability to develop deliverable solutions to problems and strong networking skills to secure buy-in from stakeholders.

• The ability to establish effective working relationships, both internally and with a range of external organisations.

We are looking for candidates with experience of supporting employers and would welcome applicants who have had experience of working within HM Government funding guidance.
