The opportunity
We're now looking for a commercially driven Senior E-commerce Manager to join us at an exciting moment of transformation with a newly refreshed brand identity. This is a pivotal role in shaping the future of our digital retail experience, from trading and merchandising to optimisation, conversion, and customer journey innovation.
As Senior E-commerce Manager, you'll take ownership of our e-commerce trading strategy and site performance of Reporting into the Head of E-commerce & Marketing, you'll lead cross-functional collaboration across Trading, Buying, Tech and Digital Marketing to ensure we deliver a compelling, commercially effective and customer-centric online experience.
You'll be responsible for day-to-day trading performance, product merchandising, category optimisation and the overall customer journey. This is primarily a strategic role, owning the performance of our site in order to deliver revenue growth and operational excellence across the e-commerce function.
This is a new role for the business with a direct report.
Your unique contribution
E-commerce trading & performance
- Own the daily, weekly and monthly trade performance tracking and optimisation, reporting on KPIs including revenue, AOV, conversion, bounce rate, and on-site engagement.
- Work closely with Buying, Brand and Digital Marketing teams to align product launches and promotional activities with e-commerce trading goals.
- Lead the site trading calendar in collaboration with the CRM and digital marketing teams to ensure cohesive messaging and execution across all digital channels.
- Monitor on-site search, navigation, and merchandising performance, implementing continuous improvements to boost discoverability and relevance.
Website management, UX & SEO
- Act as day-to-day lead for website content operations, including homepage updates, product positioning, merchandising rules and landing page optimisation.
- Partner with design, SEO and development teams to improve usability, load speed, structured data and key conversion funnels.
- Support the implementation of SEO best practices across content, navigation, URL structure and technical performance to increase organic traffic and rankings.
- Own and evolve product taxonomy and categorisation strategy, ensuring alignment with customer navigation behaviours, keyword intent, and commercial objectives.
Collaboration & leadership
- Manage a cross-functional workflow with Buying, Creative, Digital Marketing and Tech to deliver campaign assets, product launches and seasonal updates on time and on brief.
- Support QA processes and manage ad hoc bug resolutions or site fixes in coordination with the development team.
- Coordinate with external agencies or contractors on performance tools, SEO audits, CRO testing or UX improvement projects.
Reporting & optimisation
- Provide weekly and monthly insights on category and product performance, recommending optimisations based on data.
- Leverage tools including GA4, Contentsquare and CMS analytics to monitor site performance, search trends and user behaviour.
- Input into quarterly commercial forecasts and planning cycles, with recommendations informed by SEO and content performance data.
Your blend of talent
- Extensive experience in e-commerce trading and digital merchandising, ideally in a multi-category retail or DTC environment, with a strong track record of driving commercial performance.
- Digital marketing or e-commerce qualifications are required.
- Commercially focused with a proven ability to drive site revenue and manage a high-performing team.
- Proficient with CMS and ecommerce platforms - custom platforms would be a bonus.
- Significant experience developing SEO content to enhance performance and achieve commercial goals.
- Data-literate with proven experience providing insights to inform decision making; experience using GA4 and UX analysis tools (e.g. Contentsquare, Hotjar).
- Organised and detail-oriented with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Interest or knowledge of drinks industry, premium spirits or wine is advantageous
