This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Youth Sport Trust's work in Wales — using your experience in sport development, education, or youth leadership to empower young people through play and sport. You'll build strong partnerships, grow a vibrant network of young leaders, and create a movement that inspires every young person in Wales to thrive, whatever their background or ability.
The Youth Sport Trust is the UK's leading charity dedicated to improving young people's education and development through the power of play and sport. We believe in a future where every child experiences the life-changing benefits of being active — building belonging, improving wellbeing, fostering inclusion, and developing character and leadership.
As our Development Manager – Wales, you'll take the lead in delivering and expanding the Youth Sport Trust's work across the home nation. You will:
- Build strong national and local partnerships to advance our mission.
- Manage funded projects and contracts, ensuring they deliver measurable impact for young people.
- Champion youth leadership by supporting schools and educators to embed best practice.
- Deliver key national events within the Young Ambassador calendar.
- Collaborate with Sport Wales, local authorities, Sports Partnerships, and National Governing Bodies of Sport to strengthen collective impact.
You'll play a key role in growing our reach and influence in line with the Vision for Sport in Wales and the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act, ensuring every young person has the opportunity to thrive through play and sport.
To succeed, you'll bring a strong understanding of Wales's sport and education landscapes and proven experience providing development support or thought leadership in these sectors. You'll be confident working collaboratively with young people and partners, with a good understanding of youth leadership, coaching, and volunteering. Skilled at financial management and an excellent communicator, you'll have a talent for building relationships, inspiring others, and managing competing priorities.
At the Youth Sport Trust, you'll join a passionate, purpose-driven team that lives its values of Trust, Responsibility, Integrity, Inclusion, Courage, and Collaboration. You'll be part of a culture that fosters innovation, creativity, and personal passion — and we promise fun, challenge, and fulfilment along the way. We offer a competitive benefits package including generous annual leave, a health cash plan, an employee assistance programme, and volunteering days.
If you're excited by the opportunity to make a real difference to young people and the sporting landscape in Wales, we'd love to hear from you. To apply please visit our careers page to complete an online application.
