**Reports to**: Payroll Operations Manager

**Hours**: 30 - 40 hours pw

**Pay**: £12.56 - £14.10ph

Mission / Purpose

The Payroll Administrator role is a “Do It” role. Its purpose is to ensure the Bureau is delighting its customers, while driving internal operational efficiencies and owning execution. You will understand all payrolls and assume day-to-day running of payroll. You will be responsible for keeping on top of payroll deadlines, monitoring quality, providing daily & weekly feedback, evaluating current process and efficiencies and working with the Operations Manager to implement changes.

Role Competencies

At least 2 years’ experience of working within a multi payroll function, ideally within an accountancy practice or specialist payroll bureau with knowledge of BrightPay would be beneficial, but not necessary.

Vision

Our aim is to run a Payroll Bureau which can help clients achieve more. While processing payroll is at our core and will remain core business, our competitive advantage (added value) is our willingness to help clients streamline processes and advise on inefficiencies to become “a part of their team”. This runs through everything we do; from the curious conversations we have with clients to identify potential problems, to the way we think when we run each payroll.

As part of your role, we’d like you to always have our vision in mind. Simply put, “how do we go further than our competition and deliver our clients those time saving efficiencies and problem-solving solutions”.

Opportunities

We have doubled in size in the space of a year and our plan is to grow better. What does this mean for you, simple - opportunities for progression, training and development.

Managing a large number of payrolls ranging from Sole traders to Ltd Companies.

Weekly and Monthly Payroll processing.

Dealing with SMP, SSP and SPP, Coding notices, P45s etc.

Dealing with mid-month starters & leavers.

Calculating pay rates/overtime/bonus/pay raises/holiday for clients when required.

Accounts journals in respect of monthly payrolls.

Registration and closure of PAYE schemes.

Pensions (predominately NEST)

We will embed you into every business process, help you to understand every payroll and introduce you personally to your clients. The outcome is for you to be able to run the day-to-day processing, plan weekly & monthly deadlines for your clients. The key aspect of this role will be to ensure that your clients payrolls are completed accurately and on time, providing a strong supportive role to our Operations Manager in relation to the processing of Payroll for clients.
