**Business Development Assistant**
**Staring Salary**: £25,000
**Hours of Work**: 40 hours

As a Business Development Assistant, you will be closely working with their Business Development Director to support current ongoing business, assisting in managing strong relationship with current and potential customers and actively networking and searchingfor new sales opportunities.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has experience in business development or sales and has experience in working within mechanical, electrical or optical engineering sector. Someone who has strong communication and organisational skills andability to demonstrate success in a similar role.
**Job Responsibility**
- Use your networking skills to find new opportunities for the Company to provide our Fibre Optic Systems.
- Understand and evaluate these opportunities with the customer to determine the benefit of the Company and the customer.
- Join online groups and professional bodies to promote the company.
- Work with the Companies existing teams to develop solutions to meet new customer’s needs.
- Support the creation of fully costed quotations and being part of the team to discuss and negotiate these with the customer.
- Provide updates to the team for inclusion in a sales funnel of new opportunities.
- Track new contacts, understand the role of the contacts and find the decision makers and stakeholders.
- Report into the Business Development Director to create strategies and plans with the team on how to maximise the opportunity.
As well as the above, the successful applicant will also be required to support current ongoing business:
- Support the current customers and sales team with supplying information when requested.
- Support the processing of Incoming orders.
- Working with the company’s production, finance, engineering and quality teams to ensure customer requirements are being met.
- Processing shipment documents and liaising with customers to ensure on time delivery.

- Previous experience in customer facing role, preferably within engineering-based company
- Understanding of operational delivery in a manufacturing environment.

- Must be highly organised with good time management skills and attention to detail
It is anticipated that 75% of your time will be used to focus on new sales and 25% of your time supporting current customers and current sales, therefore the successful applicant will be expected to travel to customers locations and attend exhibitions andconferences as required. Additionally, it can be expected that most new business will be created outside of the UK and therefore international travel will be part of this role.
