Job summary MortimerWard is a 20 bedded acute in patient ward for adults with serious mental healthproblems, requiring inpatient care and treatment.
Patients requiring admission may also havecomplex physical co morbidities and applicants should have an interest in bothmental and physical health care delivery.
Patients admitted can either be informal or detained under the Mental Health Act and require a holistic careapproach to work towards their ward hasa multi-disciplinary team approach to deliver holistic care, including nurses,physiotherapists, occupational therapist, activity support workers , PsychiatricConsultants and junior doctors.
You will also work alongside colleagues in theCrisis Team and Adult Social Care.
Mortimer Ward also welcomes and supportsstudent nurses as part of our team.MortimerWard operates a rotational shift pattern system over a 24 hours / seven dayperiod.

The day shift starts at till and the night shift at till hrs.
The post is full time but part time hourswould be considered.
Main duties of the job Delivering a highquality clinical service to patients and their families.Acting as namednurse to a group of patients under the direction / supervision of the person identifiedwith continuing responsibility.Participating intherapeutic group work programmes.Taking charge ofthe ward in the absence of the ward manager and deputy ward manager.You will beresponsible for the assessment of care needs and contributing to; theformulation of the person's needs and the development of a relevant plan basedupon the person's negotiated goals and relevant evidence based interventions.You will, inconjunction with the multi-disciplinary team, provide nursing interventions tosupport the person to meet their agreed goals and coordinate and/ orparticipate in the review of progress towards those goals, utilisingrecommended outcome measures, involving the service user and any identifiedcarer throughout the clinical journey.
