Job summary MPFT are recruiting Trainee Children and Young People's Wellbeing Practitioners.
This is an exciting opportunity to complete your training within our developing service offering low intensity interventions within wider core CAMHS within Telford and Shropshire (BeeU Service)Successful applicants will undertake training at Northampton University alongside working in MPFT and will be taught to deliver evidence based guided self-help interventions for children and young people (CYP) experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.This is a fixed term 12 month contract.Trainees will now study for a PGDip/GradDip in Wellbeing Practice which incorporates extra modules to consider wider community working, working with individual differences and facilitating therapeutic groups.

We seek highly motivated and enthusiastic mental health practitioners to work and train within our CAMHS service.Our trainees will need to possess the following qualities -An ability to study at undergraduate/postgraduate level (should have A-levels or equivalent)Be highly organised and able to manage competing demands on timeBe able to form therapeutic relationships with CYP, their families, and the local communityShow creativity and curiosity with a willingness to learn more, and try new approachesHave experience of working with CYP and families with mental health challengesHave a willingness to run therapeutic groupsSuccessful applicants will also need to make an application to University of Northampton.

Job description Job responsibilities This is a fixed term 12 month post training role within the Children and Young People Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP IAPT).
The post-holder will work within a CYP mental health service as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering, under supervision, high-quality; brief outcome focused evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.The training and service experience will equip the post holder with the necessary knowledge, attitude and capabilities to operate effectively in an inclusive, value driven service.The post holder will attend all university based taught and self-study days required by the education provider, as specified within the agreed national curriculum and work in the service for the remaining days of the week using their newly developed skills.The post holder will be expected to attend Northampton University for their teaching with placements available at both Telford and Shrewsbury locations with expectations to travel as part of the role.Upon successful completion of the course, the applicant will be eligible to apply for registration with the BABCP.
That the training year can be very demanding, and there will be an expectation of commuting to the University of NorthamptonThat while the University does offer some study days, it is very likely they will need to study outside of their working hoursThe course begins w/c 27th January 2025 and you must be able to start in service for induction period on 20th January 2025.The assignments include written work such as case studies and reflections, presentations, observed role plays and practiceTeaching is 4 days a week for the first 3 months of the course.
We then drop down to 3 days, then again to 2 days in the second half of the course.That by taking up a place on this course they will not be eligible for a further NHSE funded course for 2 yearsThere is university support offered including a personal tutor, study skills support and mental health support availableTeaching is expected to be a mix of face to face and online Person Specification Essential Criteria Essential Psychology or other health related undergraduate degree.
