We arelooking for an experienced and confident Mental Health Practitioner who is ableto work within a busy team.
You must have significant and demonstrableexperience of working with young people and their families, who can oftenpresent with a range of complex mental health needs.
You will manage your owncaseload, providing a range of high-quality care appropriate to the youngpersons needs which will include risk assessment and management, consultationand evidence based interventions.You musthave a comprehensive range of skills and knowledge to deliver clinical aspectsof the role in order to be able to provide a range of appropriate clinicalinterventions and assessment and be competent to do this work as an autonomouspractitioner within professional practice guidelines and a structuredsupervision framework.Please get in touch with Charlie Hindle (Team Manager) if youwould like to know more about the role.Atthe time of advertising, this role does meet the minimum requirements set by UKVisas and Immigration to sponsor candidates to work in the UK.

Main duties of the job As a Mental Health Practitioner in The Core Team withinWakefield CAMHS, the main duties would be as follows:-Hold and manage a caseload independently.-Provide thorough risk assessments and careplanning.-Provide therapeutic intervention through both1:1 work and group work with young people in the locality.-Provide urgent assessments when required.-Work in a trauma-informed way.-Work with other agencies; schools, social careetc.

Job description Job responsibilities Thepost-holder will:Provide assessment and treatment to childrenand young people with mental health needs;Work autonomously and collaboratively withinthe MDT, providing consultation for other agencies/professionals;Promote the safeguarding and welfare ofchildren and young people.Toprovide routine and urgent assessment and interventions to young people with awide range of emotional and psychological problems who are referred tospecialist CAMHS, in keeping with evidence based practice with supervision froma senior clinician within professional guidelines and within the overallframework of the teams policies and procedures.

Experience Essential Substantial post qualification experience, some of which must be working with Children, young people and their carers in a mental health or other complex care setting Multidisciplinary team working Inter-agency liaison and consultation Experience of supervising/mentoring junior staff Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance NHS plan, Mental Health Legislation, Childrens act, Education Act, Working Together, Childrens NSF, Every Child Matters, etc.
Clinical/therapeutic knowledge and skills in mental health.
Experience in assessment and risk management and ability to implement evidence based practice Proven ability to work with other agencies and disciplines and in partnership with other organisations.
Experience of safeguarding children and young people.
Desirable Experience of community settings Experience of working in different cultural contexts Knowledge and experience of working with Equality and Diversity.
Training.
Desirable Training and experience relating to specialist CAMHS Experience of delivering training to others Qualifications Essential Relevant professional qualification, nursing, or other professional allied to medicine Dip SW or relevant mental health profession Membership of professional body Desirable Post Registration qualification degree Post graduate qualification in mental health ( CBT, Family Therapy, Counselling) A teaching and assessing qualification.
