About the Role:

As an experienced Content Designer, you’ll work at the heart of our multidisciplinary team, collaborating with UX designers, developers, researchers, and policy experts. Your mission will be to craft clear, effective, and engaging content that meets the needs of the public, adhering to GDS standards while championing best practices throughout the content lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead content creation, from initial discovery to post-launch refinement, ensuring every piece serves a clear purpose and meets user needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape content that enhances accessibility, inclusivity, and usability.
  • Conduct user research and gather feedback to iterate and improve content, aligned with GDS principles.
  • Advocate for best practices in content design, with a strong focus on accessibility, plain language, and user-centered approaches.
  • Drive content strategy within the agile development process, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Create user-friendly, outcome-oriented content to guide users seamlessly through government services.

  • Proven Experience: You have demonstrable experience in content design for Government Digital Services, with a solid portfolio that shows your work across the digital product lifecycle.

  • Detail-Oriented: You have a meticulous eye for clarity, coherence, and usability, with a strong grasp of GDS standards.
