Principal Social Worker - Child Protection Team
Location: Coastal South West Region
Rate: £36 per hour (Ltd.)

Your Role
As a Principal Social Worker, you will:
Handle Child in Need (CIN), child protection, and child in care visits.
Conduct direct work with families, strengthening their capacity to provide safe and nurturing environments.
Chair key meetings, including CIN, Core Groups, and Placement Planning.
Support management with Section 47 strategy discussions, enhancing your leadership and case management expertise.
Provide reflective supervision, mentoring team members, and contributing to a collaborative and supportive work culture.This role offers manageable caseloads, allowing you to focus on frontline work and achieve high-quality outcomes for children and families. Additionally, you'll benefit from the Local Authority's highly regarded training programme, ensuring your skills remain up to date to confidently handle complex child protection cases and investigations.

What We're Looking For
Recognised social work qualification and Social Work England registration.
Significant experience in frontline statutory children's services.
Ability to manage a diverse caseload and engage in direct work with children aged 0-18.
Own vehicle and flexibility to travel within the region.Contract Details:
Initial 12-week contract, with potential for extension based on performance and service needs.
