The Role

The position of Payroll Executive is essential for ensuring accurate and efficient payroll processing for employees both in the UK and internationally. The role involves managing the in-house UK payroll for approximately 150 employees and liaising with international outsourced payroll providers to ensure timely and compliant payroll processing across various regions. Responsibilities include overseeing payroll processing from start to finish, preparing and submitting payroll reports, managing pension schemes, and addressing employee queries. The role also requires close collaboration with HR and Finance teams, assisting with year-end returns, and producing ad hoc reports. Staying updated on payroll legislation changes to maintain compliance is also a key aspect of the role.

About You

The ideal candidate for this role is a seasoned Payroll professional with a proven track record in managing UK payroll processes and coordinating international payrolls. Proficiency in payroll software systems, particularly Sage, and a strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, NI, and HMRC requirements, are essential. Strong organisational and interpersonal skills are necessary, along with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity. The candidate should be skilled in problem-solving, able to investigate and resolve payroll issues efficiently, and comfortable working in high-pressure environments. Advanced Excel skills are crucial for compiling reports and reconciling data. Experience with global or multi-site payrolls, a CIPP qualification, or fluency in additional European languages would be advantageous.
