Who are we looking for?

We are currently looking for a new Events & Communications Specialist to join our CEG Digital division.

The role is on a part-time (22.5hrs hrs per week), permanent basis. The location for this role can be either in Cambridge or Newcastle, United Kingdom (please ensure you mention the preferred location).

Reporting to the Social Media Marketing Manager, the Events & Communications Specialist role will be to support the CEG Digital Marketing Team in the organisation of recruitment and conversion events, which will be hosted predominately virtually/on digital platforms.

The successful candidate will contribute to all aspects of event organisation, including scheduling, planning, preparing and production, hosting, reporting and event follow-up. In addition, they will work on project-related communications from across the Content and Communications team, including social media, email campaigns and website promotion.

Other key activities as an Events & Comms Specialist:

* In conjunction with the wider team, support the logistics of online recruitment and conversion events including the set up and management of the platforms (for e.g. StreamGo/GoTo webinar/Teams)

* Source and confirm potential event and contributors to advocacy content (including students, alumni, CEG Digital and academic staff)

* Direct, prepare, and support event contributors to the online recruitment and conversion events

* Support the production of the online recruitment and conversion events

* Support the postproduction of the online recruitment and conversion events

* Writing of speaker briefs, agendas, and evaluation reports

* Contribute to social media event promotion

* Prepare website listings and stories, updating and maintaining relevant areas of the sites

Aspects we will be looking for:

* Previous experience in organising events, both face-to-face and virtual, preferably in a professional setting (essential)

* Demonstrable experience in organisation and implementing communication campaigns

* Experience with one or more email marketing systems such as Hubspot, Microsoft Dynamics, Mail Chimp or Marketo

* Up-to-date computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

* Experience in contributing to website content

* Fluency in oral and written English

* Excellent communication skills

* Excellent relationship building skills

* High level of attention to detail and high level of accuracy

* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, in person, by telephone and in email

* Exceptional time management & organisational skills, can manage multiple tasks and projects

* Organised, independent, team-player

* Output orientated - committed to delivery of target
