Job Title: Quantity Surveying Specialist

Mitie is seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveying Specialist to join its commercial team in South Wales. As a key member of the team, this individual will be responsible for supporting the commercial aspects of project delivery.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, with experience in producing budgets, forecasts, and monthly CVRs. They should possess excellent analytical and numerical skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

This role involves working closely with the project teams and stakeholders to identify commercial risks and opportunities, reviewing contract terms, and advising on procurement strategy. The ideal candidate will also have experience in negotiating contract terms and possess excellent customer service skills.

Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing feasibility proposals by providing robust cost estimates and procurement recommendations.
  • Undertaking cash flow forecasts on project programs, performing risk, value management, and cost control.
  • Advising on procurement strategy and preparing and analyzing costings for tenders.
  • Allocating work to subcontractors, arranging payments, and month-end reporting and financial reconciliation of cost and value.
Requirements
  • HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of contract law and the NEC suite of contracts.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
