The Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate HR Manager to join our team and support our mission by overseeing all aspects of human resources management within our organisation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies, policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, fostering a positive work environment, and supporting the professional development of our staff.

This role is crucial to the charity's success. Our people are our most important asset, and you will be the one to ensure we have a happy and productive workplace where everyone works together to achieve our established mission and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment and onboarding
  • Employee relations - advising employees and management on HR-related matters
  • Performance management - overseeing the performance appraisal system, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and feedback mechanisms
  • Policy development and compliance - improving and maintaining HR policies, procedures, and initiatives in accordance with legal requirements and organisational strategy
  • HR Administration - maintaining accurate employee records, including personnel files, absence records, and HR databases

About You

  • Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in human resources management or a related field. CIPD certification is preferred
  • Proven experience in HR management, preferably in the charity sector or a similar non-profit organisation
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels of the organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity
  • Solid organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
  • Commitment to the mission and values of our organisation

What We Can Offer
