Role Overview

  • Offer expert advice, guidance, and support to management, educational leaders, and governing bodies on a diverse array of employment and related matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide options, progress updates, and solutions on various casework including, but not limited to, recruitment, performance management, investigations, disciplinary actions, grievances, and interpretation of employment terms and conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with management, educational leaders, and governing bodies to address significant business and personnel-related challenges by proposing and evaluating a variety of innovative solutions that align with business needs while adhering to policy, employment law, and statutory regulations.
  • Assist and advise service managers in managing investigations, disciplinary actions, and other conduct-related issues to safeguard the interests of the organization and ensure fairness and due process.
  • Support Senior HR Advisors and other management in conducting employee relations, consultations, and collective bargaining with employees and representatives from trade unions or professional bodies.
  • Encourage a re-evaluation of existing practices and influence local service managers on matters related to personnel management while acknowledging the requirements of corporate policy and the organization's operational model.

  • The postholder serves as a vital source of professional HR advice and guidance to various operations, commissioning, and business support managers, enabling them to make informed personnel management decisions and ensure optimal utilization of staff resources in a cost-effective manner.
  • This HR and Organizational Development service plays a crucial role in achieving service objectives and facilitating business development and improvement initiatives.
  • The postholder will not have direct line management responsibilities but will engage in mentoring and management development activities to enhance the personnel management capabilities of service managers.
  • Occasionally, the postholder may take on project management roles that may involve temporary funding allocations.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate must possess demonstrated experience and expertise in handling complex disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence, and capability cases. Please note that we are not seeking candidates with a focus on recruitment, onboarding, or HR administrative tasks.
