About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Global Engagement Manager to join our Global Engagement team in the Africa and Middle East portfolio. The successful candidate will provide high-quality strategic and practical advisory services to Faculties, Professional Services, and senior leadership to facilitate UCL's global partnerships and engagement.
In this role, you will develop a deep understanding of the higher education and research landscape within the AME region, acting as a key source of expertise. You will support academics and teams in navigating the cultural, technical, and regulatory complexities of international collaboration, helping to extend the reach and impact of UCL's research and education activities globally.
You will also act as a bridge between UCL and external organizations, lowering barriers to collaboration and helping identify opportunities for impactful partnerships. Proactive relationship-building with internal academic departments and external stakeholders, including universities, governments, and embassies, is vital to the role.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of new strategic priorities in a diverse and growing region.
This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 40% on-site presence. Wednesdays are fixed team collaboration days when you'll be expected to attend the office in person.
About You
To be successful in this role, you must have in-depth knowledge of the internationalisation of the higher education sector, particularly in relation to Africa and the Middle East. Significant experience in developing and implementing impactful global higher education partnerships is essential, as is the ability to manage complex projects autonomously. Strong analytical skills and the ability to produce strategic reports and proposals are required, along with the ability to meet or exceed objectives in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will be culturally and politically aware, with a strong motivation to work as part of a team and deliver results. A willingness to travel and occasionally work outside of standard hours is also essential.
What We Offer
As well as the exciting opportunities this role presents, we also offer some great benefits, including:
- 41 Days holiday (including 27 days annual leave, 8 bank holiday, and 6 closure days)
- Defined benefit career average revalued earnings pension scheme (CARE)
- Cycle to work scheme and season ticket loan
- On-Site nursery
- On-site gym
