Strategic Procurement Lead

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for procurement and commercial excellence? We're seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Commercial Lead for Professional Services and IT.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of global energy and play a key role in developing and leading a new corporate procurement category team. As the Commercial Lead, you will be responsible for implementing a category management approach to build a better understanding of the market and develop requirements to achieve the best solutions available.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage all sourcing activities for major spend categories and assigned projects, adapting resources to meet strategic deadlines and organizational objectives.
* Foster effective communication and team commitment, building strong working relationships at both project and direct reporting levels.
* Develop and implement supply chain strategies to ensure best value in procurement, providing leadership and influence to support commercial engagements.
* Resolve conflicts constructively with team members and stakeholders, including high-level government entities.
* Oversee procurement and commercial responsibilities for all projects within assigned categories, ensuring compliance with commercial requirements and regulations.
Specific Qualifications/Experience:
* CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) fully qualified.
* Degree level or equivalent experience.
* Experience of working with public contract regulations since 2015 on end-to-end Procurements and good working knowledge of the Public Procurement Regulations 2023.
* Experience at strategic procurement project and programme level acting as the lead expert for complex/critical Procurement and Commercial issues and influencing both internal and external stakeholders.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.
