Senior Procurement and Logistics Manager for Defence Industry

Armatec Survivability is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement and Logistics Manager to join our team in a challenging role that requires strategic thinking and exceptional leadership skills.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of progressive experience in managing materials and sourcing within a design and manufacturing environment, preferably in the defence industry.

As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cross-functional planning processes that incorporate make versus buy, capacity planning, scheduling, inventory, material and associated cost elements.

You will also be responsible for achieving financial objectives by working with management to prepare materials budgets, schedule expenditures, analyze variances and initiate corrective actions.

In addition, you will participate as a member of the operations team in making cross-functional operational decisions, collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Process Engineering and Quality to achieve cost reduction targets, and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by implementing and maintaining company policies.

The estimated salary for this position is between $120,000 and $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement cross-functional planning processes that incorporate make versus buy, capacity planning, scheduling, inventory, material and associated cost elements.
  2. Achieve financial objectives by working with management to prepare materials budgets, schedule expenditures, analyze variances and initiate corrective actions.
  3. Participate as a member of the operations team in making cross-functional operational decisions.
  4. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by implementing and maintaining company policies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, management or other related discipline; master's degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in managing materials and sourcing within a design and manufacturing environment, preferably in the defence industry.
  • Experience in total quality, Six Sigma or other similar environments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • APICS certification.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.
