Lead Financial Strategist for Scientific Research

As a Management Accountant, you will provide professional financial management support to an STFC Science or Technology Department, contributing to the success of the organisation's mission.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working as part of the UKRI Finance Directorate, reporting to a Senior Finance Business Partner, to support departmental preparation of budgeting, forecasting, and reporting of programme and capital expenditure, completion of financial month end processes, and preparation of FEC costings for projects and grants.
- Building and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, developing and influencing a strong network to facilitate effective working relationships.
- Providing management information to support departmental managers and senior finance colleagues in their day-to-day decision making.
You will be responsible for providing expert financial guidance to support the department's strategic objectives, working closely with colleagues and stakeholders to drive business outcomes. To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Studying towards AAT, ACCA, or CIMA, or 5 years of Management Accounting or Finance Business Partnering experience.
- Well-developed organisational, time management, and motivational skills.
- Ability to exercise judgement on financial issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present financial information effectively to non-finance staff in a variety of meeting settings.
UKRI offers a competitive salary of £34,905 per annum, with the potential for an additional £2,500 for qualified ACCA/CIMA. The organisation also provides a range of benefits, including:
