Job Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and flexible teaching assistant to work in a specialist unit supporting students with additional learning needs and social, emotional and mental health issues.

About the Role: You will be responsible for encouraging children to engage with the basics of the curriculum and dealing with behavioural challenges. Your skills in relating to children who have barriers to learning, including additional learning needs, will be essential in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with additional learning needs and social, emotional and mental health issues
  • Encourage children to engage with the basics of the curriculum
  • Deal with behavioural challenges and develop strategies for improvement
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, teachers, and other support staff

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people with additional learning needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability

Salary Information: The salary for this position is £97 per day (full-time position). The contract type is temporary-permanent, and the duration is for the full academic year.
