About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth operation of our Cocktail Bar, Function Bar, and outdoor Terraces at Great Fosters Hotel. Reporting to the Food and Beverage Manager, the main duties of this role include:

  • Leading a team of 6+ bar staff, ensuring excellent service standards and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Conducting monthly beverage stocktakes and weekly ordering sheets to ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of personal presentation and hygiene among team members.
  • Ensuring the bar is opened and closed according to standard operating procedures.
  • Developing and implementing seasonal cocktail and beverage menus to drive sales and customer engagement.
  • Achieving Mystery Guest and AA standards for the department through effective training and coaching.
  • Leading by example in achieving and implementing hotel key standards.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of front and back-of-house areas to SOP standards.
  • Developing and implementing effective induction and training plans for new starters.
  • Coaching and mentoring the bar team to ensure excellent performance and motivation.
  • Ensuring the team is briefed daily on special service requirements, promotions, and issues.
  • Liaising with the Restaurant and Bar Manager to develop and improve the bar service offering to guests and visitors.

Requirements

  • 45 hours per week, various shifts over 5 days including weekends.
  • Smart appearance and the passion and confidence to lead the team.
  • Excellent communication skills with a passion for guest service.
  • Ability to host with a warm and welcoming personality.
  • Supervisory/management experience within a quality bar operation, preferably in a 4-star/5-star rated hotel.
  • Ability to manage and motivate the team.
  • Must have own transport due to semi-rural location.
