Job Title: Housing Officer - Extra Care

As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting our Extra Care schemes, providing cover across our four sites. You will work closely with the Head of Housing to ensure the smooth operation of our services, providing an enriched experience for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. People Management: Provide strong leadership to our Housing Support Workers, inspiring and motivating them to deliver high-quality housing and support services. Collaborate with the Head of Housing in recruitment, selection, and onboarding of Housing Support Workers as necessary. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training and development needs.
  2. Resident Support: Provide Intensive Housing Management services, including lunchtime meals and 24-hour emergency wellbeing support. Ensure safe, nutritious, and appetising meals are provided, and regularly sample the food to review and consult with tenants.
  3. Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures. Regularly review and update policies and protocols to meet changing regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between our Extra Care facility and other departments within the organisation. Cultivate positive relationships with residents, their families, and external partners to enhance resident satisfaction and the reputation of the facility.
  5. Financial Budgets: Monitor and review budgets as necessary, liaising with the Finance Department.

Essential:

  1. Experience of working with older/vulnerable people.
  2. Previous experience in scheme housing management.
  3. Effective knowledge and experience of managing a team of staff.
  4. Experience of working with stakeholders.
  5. Knowledge of health and safety compliance responsibilities.
  6. Understanding of the support and care needs of older people.
  7. Good understanding of equality, diversity & inclusion.
  8. Driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  9. Valid vehicle business insurance.
  10. Flexible approach to working hours as required.

Desirable:

  1. Previous experience of managing a mixed tenure extra care or retirement scheme.
  2. Experience in liaising with other stakeholders such as adult care services, voluntary organisations/local authority departments.
  3. Knowledge of managing voids and arrears.
