In the role of Data Analysis Engineer, you will be part of Sussex Police Strategic Insights Team, a collaborative unit that merges research, data analytics, and operational policing expertise to enhance service delivery across all business areas in line with our priorities.

Job Overview

This position is focused on designing and developing interactive Power BI reports that facilitate data analysis and informed decision-making to support the Priorities Delivery Plan.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Consult with business leads to understand BI requirements for operational policing functions and conduct data discovery work to map business needs to Sussex Police systems and data.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Insights Team to test data and identify quality issues.
  • Design and create reports in Microsoft Power BI from diverse data sources, utilizing proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you must possess:

  • Demonstrable ability to design and develop reports in Microsoft Power BI.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and resolution of data from various sources.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills to ensure timely workload completion without close supervision.
  • A respectful, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach, maintaining professional standards at all times.
