Senior Environmental Health Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Environmental Health Officer to join our team at West Oxfordshire District Council. As a key member of our Environmental Regulatory Sector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, conducting inspections, and addressing public health concerns.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and execute statutory duties related to private sector housing, caravan and campsite licensing, and public health.
- Conduct inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Provide technical expertise and lead on investigations, as well as appearing and giving evidence in court and tribunal when necessary.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective strategies for improving housing standards and public health.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health or a related field.
- Experience in environmental regulation, housing standards, or public health.
- Comprehensive knowledge of housing regulations, public health laws, and environmental standards.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Agile working arrangements, allowing a mix of home and office working.
- Flexible working arrangements, depending on the role.
