Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Environmental Health Officer to join our team at Publica. As a key member of our Environmental Health team, you will be responsible for leading and providing expert guidance in the areas of Private Sector Housing, Nuisance/Anti-Social Behaviour, and Public Health.

About the Role

  • Leading the Environmental Health functional areas of Private Sector Housing, Nuisance/Anti-Social Behaviour, and Public Health
  • Providing expert guidance and technical supervision to team members
  • Carrying out a wide range of duties, including inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions
  • Supporting other team members in their routine work and providing technical assistance as needed

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Environmental Health Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures related to Environmental Health
  • Conducting inspections and investigations to identify and address environmental health hazards
  • Providing technical advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders
  • Collaborating with other teams and departments to achieve shared goals and objectives

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant degree or equivalent experience
  • Relevant postgraduate experience and/or qualification
  • Ability to remain calm and confident when dealing with challenging customers and environments
  • Ability to resolve complex issues by negotiation
  • Deliver commitments and take ownership of own caseload, reshaping of plans to deliver required outcomes
