Job Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Social Worker with extensive experience in children and families social work to join our Duty and Assessment Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for responding to new referrals, conducting assessments, and developing plans to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Respond to new referrals and conduct thorough assessments to identify needs and risks
  2. Develop and implement effective plans to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people
  3. Collaborate with other professionals, including police, health, and education services, to ensure effective responses to safeguarding concerns
  4. Provide high-quality support and guidance to more junior members of the team
  5. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to improve social work practice

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A degree in social work or a related field
  • Significant experience in children and families social work, ideally within a statutory or voluntary organization
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and other professionals
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policy frameworks, including the Children Act 1989 and the Care Act 2014
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
