Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced pharmacy technician to join our Outpatient Pharmacy team at Royal Free London Pharmacy. As a Chief Technician/Dispensary Manager, you will play a key role in managing the staff and resources of the dispensary to provide a safe and efficient pharmaceutical service to patients and staff.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide and coordinate pharmacy dispensary services to meet the needs of patients and staff.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities, training, and assessment of staff in the dispensary.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) within the area of service, both internally and externally as appropriate.

Requirements
  • Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values.
  • BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences (NVQ Pharmacy services Level 3) or equivalent.
  • CPPE or equivalent ACPT qualification.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Significant post-qualification hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Broad technical pharmaceutical knowledge relating to the promotion of high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective use of medicines.
  • Experience of expenditure reporting, audits, and writing SOPs.
  • Previous assessable experience/understanding of JAC Pharmacy Computer System (or equivalent).
  • Experience of training and supervision, project management, and operational management.
