Project Overview

The Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute is seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team and contribute to the project entitled "Mapping cellular trajectories in the senescence spectrum". This project aims to gain mechanistic and functional insights into the decision-making process between senescence and tumour initiation within the senescence spectrum.

Research Group

The research group is led by Professor Masashi Narita and focuses on understanding the fundamental biology of cancer. Our team is committed to providing an inclusive and supportive working environment that fosters intellectual curiosity and scientific excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct single-cell biology and epigenomic approaches to investigate the senescence spectrum
  • Collaborate with computational biologists to analyze data and gain insights into the decision-making process
  • Contribute to the development of new research ideas and approaches

Requirements

  • Recent graduates or final-year undergraduates with a First/Upper Second Class degree in a relevant subject
  • Experience in epigenetic mapping and computational data analysis is advantageous but not essential
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Funding and Benefits

This four-year studentship is funded by Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute and includes full funding for University fees and a stipend of £21,000 per annum for four years.

How to Apply
