We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated postdoctoral scientist to join our research team at the University of Cambridge, working on the DNA-damage response (DDR) in mammalian cells.
The successful candidate will contribute to a highly collaborative research programme, combining genome engineering, genetic screening, next-generation sequencing, bioinformatics, cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry to advance our understanding of DDR mechanisms and their impact on cancer therapies.
Key responsibilities will include identifying novel genetic and functional relationships between DDR genes/proteins and other cellular components, expanding our knowledge of DDR processes affected by protein post-translational modifications, and establishing how DDR defects and deregulation affect cellular sensitivity and resistance to cancer therapies.
Essential criteria include a PhD in biological sciences, strong experience in mammalian cell biology and CRISPR-based gene editing technologies, excellent written and spoken English communication skills, and a collaborative and friendly attitude.
Appointment at Research Associate level is dependent on having a PhD, with those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD initially appointed as a Research Assistant and moving to Research Associate upon confirmation of their PhD award.
The University actively supports equality, diversity, and inclusion and encourages applications from all sections of society.
The University has a responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to live and work in the UK.
