About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team at AMETEK. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in driving process improvements and implementing lean manufacturing principles across our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements, resulting in increased efficiency and reduced costs.
  • Develop and maintain process maps, PFMEA's, and control plans to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and participate in lean manufacturing initiatives, including the implementation of standard work processes, visual factory displays, and 1-piece flow lines.
  • Work with manufacturing cell leaders and lean coordinators to improve process efficiencies and reduce throughput times.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including SOP's, routings, and visual factory displays.
  • Support the implementation of new products and processes, including the development of product cycle times and monitoring of actual performance against standards.
  • Lead and participate in improvement projects and CAPEX initiatives to enable new process and product introductions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and implement product documentation modifications and parts obsolescence.
  • Provide day-to-day manufacturing engineering support for production cells to ensure customer schedule adherence.
  • Lead and participate in teams to develop process FMEA's and implement them in the manufacturing environment.
  • Manage new product introductions and the manufacture of legacy products from release to production through the product life cycle.
  • Mentor cell leaders on improved methods of manufacturing assembly and test.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong background in lean manufacturing principles and process improvement.
  • Previous experience in NPI and implementation of standard work processes.
  • Experience in implementing lean in an industrial environment, either as a coordinator or leader.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, including 5S, 7 Wastes, Visual Management, and Standardized Work.
  • Experience in using problem-solving techniques, including 5 Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa diagrams, and 8D.
  • Significant technical and problem-solving experience in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment.
  • Good time management skills, with a strong track record of planning and managing complex long-term projects.
  • Significant IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel at an intermediate level.
  • Experience in working within an aerospace manufacturing environment, automotive, or a closely related industry.
  • Methodical and logical approach, with strong attention to detail and results-oriented.
  • Team player, able to work in a concurrent engineering team.
  • Good command of the English language, verbal reasoning, and articulate communication skills.
  • Good presentation and communication skills to groups of around 10 people.
  • Self-motivated and takes ownership, with a proactive approach and ability to work independently.
  • Handles pressure well, with a flexible approach to work and a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with a strong aptitude for motivating others.
  • Knowledge of ERP MRP systems.
  • Theoretical background and practical experience in process control techniques, including gauge repeatability and reproducibility, design of experiments, and statistical process control.
