About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Improvement Specialist to join our Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in streamlining and elevating our processes to meet the high standards of customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Analyze and assess the overall performance of our middle mile operation, including air network, surface transportation, and sortation.
  2. Drive network improvements for ATS, evaluating the impact on existing setups and defining trade-offs between customer experience and cost.
  3. Lead the delivery of critical business initiatives, managing all aspects of project planning, requirements definition, risk management, communication, and implementation.
  4. Manage communication with senior stakeholders, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment.
  5. Interact with Amazon's operational and technical senior management teams to ensure global alignment and drive business success.
  6. Collaborate with development teams, making project decisions, achieving tactical goals while maintaining a strategic focus.
  7. Develop and review strategic documents, providing data-driven insights to inform business decisions.
A Day in the Life

As a Process Improvement Specialist, you will be at the forefront of making Amazon's logistics better. You will be responsible for improving our processes to deliver great experiences for our customers. Your role will involve identifying areas for enhancement, using data to identify improvement opportunities, and auditing processes. You will also recommend changes and use your project management and stakeholder management skills to implement new processes.

About the Team

Amazon's ATS team plays a critical role in our success, using air, sea, and road transport, as well as sortation centers equipped with the latest technology. Our team captures data and uses it to drive decisions, making Amazon more innovative and efficient. We prioritize safety and use the expertise of our people to get packages to their destination quickly, conveniently, and sustainably.

Requirements
  1. A degree in business, supply chain, transportation, economics, or a technical field.
  2. Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions.
  3. Fluent in English and an additional European language.
  4. Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to concisely summarize relevant data and convey results.
  5. Relevant experience in communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership.
  6. Experience using data and metrics to isolate issues, test theories, confirm assumptions, generate ideas, prioritize opportunities, execute, and measure success.
  7. Experience in complex problem-solving, root cause analysis in a business environment.
  8. Intermediate or advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, knowledge in SQL.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques.
  2. Work experience in operations, supply chain, or logistics.
  3. Work experience in a data-driven business environment.
  4. Ability to work successfully in a dynamic, ambiguous environment.
  5. Experience in data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Quicksight).
