Job Title: Process Improvement Specialist

Salary: Salary Negotiable, Commensurate with experience

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Improvement Specialist to join our team at Harrison Scott Associates. As a key member of our Technical Services Department, you will be responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing improvements to existing processes to enhance operational productivity, product quality, production efficiency, and legal compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Improve and optimize Mill processes for product and process-related projects to enhance product quality, cost, and delivery.
  2. Measure and improve process capability.
  3. Work with suppliers and Company Customer supply chains to optimize and develop resolutions for product and process improvement.
  4. Lead cross-functional teams in technical projects.
  5. Support the Mill COSHH policy by carrying out specialist Risk Assessments on laboratory and Operations activities.
  6. Conduct atmospheric monitoring on site to support COSHH requirements.
  7. Monitor, calibrate, and maintain scientific equipment, ensuring compliance with quality management systems.
  8. Resolve routine and non-routine problems and queries, including customer complaints, using approved problem-solving techniques.
  9. Carry out scientific procedures to a high standard, including the analysis of effluent waters, finished products, and incoming raw materials.
  10. Conduct routine analysis of effluent waste samples to meet ISO 14001 and TSD product quality standards.

Requirements:

  1. Education to Degree level preferred, ideally as a Chemist or in other scientific disciplines with strong chemistry acumen.
  2. Good degree of computer literacy, specifically in relation to standard Microsoft Packages.
  3. Laboratory experience is essential; experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
  4. Experience in commercial project management and problem-solving is desirable.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including technical report writing skills.
  6. Ability to work within a team environment.
  7. Willingness to travel within the UK and abroad.
  8. Flexibility to support projects, trials, and problem-solving is required.
