Job Summary:
A highly skilled Medical Office Supervisor is sought to oversee the administrative processing of disability determinations at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. This role involves managing unit workflow, assigning tasks to team members, and providing training to ensure seamless operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical terminology, experience working in a medical setting, and proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Additionally, they should possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills to effectively manage multiple priorities and teams.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Managing unit work flow and assign tasks to Disability Assistants
  • Train new and existing Disability Assistants
  • Monitor customer service phone queues and provide escalation response
  • Monitor unit key performance indicators
  • Act as unit Disability Liaison for agency partner inquiries
  • Review disability supplements for accuracy and completeness
  • Telephone contact with clinical treating sources to receive clinical information
  • Review external databases to identify cases for quick completion


Requirements:
  • Associates degree in business or related field
  • 5-7 years of relevant office experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology or ability to take a course
  • Knowledge of HIPAA laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to monitor and generate reports
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills


Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience.
