About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Capital Projects Manager to join our team at Victrex. In this role, you will be responsible for the programme and project management of capital projects involving design, engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) and commissioning activities. You will provide support to the manufacturing value streams in order to deliver their project portfolio in line with the Capital project process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and progress the programme of investments allocated
  • Manage interdependencies between projects as well as resources available and resource conflicts
  • Agree project objectives with the project sponsor and confirm project team roles and responsibilities with steering teams
  • Select, manage and expedite 3rd parties (professional engineers, vendors and subcontractors)
  • Develop and deliver the front-end design, plan and cost estimation to sanction quality estimate standard (presanction)
  • Manage the implementation of the plans ensuring that progress is maintained in line with objectives including overall project cost and timing
  • Manage risks, issues and changes at a project level, whilst using appropriate mechanisms, tools and techniques

Requirements

  • Excellent competence in both engineering and/or project management
  • Ability to lead others applying the competence
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering multi-million-pound projects preferably in a chemical processing / manufacturing or building services environment
  • Proven experience of the application of detailed problem-solving skills to resolve complex problems
  • Relevant engineering degree, or equivalent experience with professional membership of an Engineering Institution
