About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Victrex as a Capital Project Manager, where you will play a key role in the management of our capital projects. As a Capital Project Manager, you will be responsible for the programme and project management of capital projects involving design, engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) and commissioning activities to ensure successful delivery in terms of time, cost and quality.

You will work closely with the Strategic Development Leader to co-ordinate and progress the programme of investments allocated, including acceleration, deceleration, redefining, terminating and initiating projects within the programme. You will also manage interdependencies between projects as well as resources available and resource conflicts.

As a Capital Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering up to 30% of our capital portfolio in any financial year, managing multiple projects or individual values over £10M. You will lead contracting teams of professional engineers, designers, buyers and construction supervisors, indirectly, and may be required to line manage and support the development of our Project Engineers.

We are looking for someone with excellent competence in both engineering and/or project management, with the ability to lead others applying the competence. You will have demonstrable experience of delivering multi-million pound projects, preferably in a chemical processing/manufacturing or building services environment. Demonstrated success in leading and delivering significant multi-discipline engineering projects and solutions is required.

Our ideal candidate will have proven experience of the application of detailed problem-solving skills to resolve complex problems. A relevant engineering degree, or equivalent experience with professional membership of an Engineering Institution, is preferred. You should have demonstrable experience of working on COMAH regulated industrial plants, or a similar regulated manufacturing industry.

Experience of line managing and developing others is an advantage.
