Student Welfare Officer - Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Welfare Officer to join our team at Protocol Education. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being of our students, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and ready to engage in their learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, helping them overcome social, emotional, and personal challenges
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for students, guiding them in developing healthy coping strategies and promoting a positive school environment
  • Collaborate with school staff and external agencies to address student well-being and ensure coordinated support
  • Monitor and encourage regular attendance, addressing issues that may impact students' engagement
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding practices to ensure a safe school environment

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a student welfare, pastoral, or educational support role is highly desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a caring and approachable demeanor
  • Patience, resilience, and sensitivity when handling complex or confidential matters
  • Good organizational skills and an understanding of safeguarding standards
  • A commitment to promoting the welfare and personal growth of all students
