Welfare Officer

ALPADIA Language Schools SA is seeking a highly motivated Welfare Officer to join our team. This is a residential position that requires a strong focus on student safety and wellbeing.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the proper safety, conduct, and wellbeing of students in our care.
- Monitor and supervise the student residence, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
- Manage students' behavior, using a judicious approach to sanction or encourage as appropriate.
- Chase and find students who are missing from the programme, maintaining high safeguarding standards.
- Support and care for sick students in camp.
- Carefully monitor the host institutions' property, ensuring it is well looked after and any damage reported and investigated.
- Prioritize the safety of students above all else, following our Safeguarding and Health and Safety Policy.
- Develop professional, positive relationships with students to enhance their overall experience.
- Deal with concerns, worries, or questions students may have, ensuring a sensitive and supportive approach.
- Ensure any safeguarding concerns are dealt with sensitively, and information shared/escalated appropriately.

- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.

- Excellent team work skills.
- Knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate clearly.
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
- The ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.
- A positive attitude to the use of authority and maintaining discipline.
- High level of integrity.
- Relate well to children and gain their trust and respect.
- Able to empathize with the children.
- Experience working with Juniors in a care position.
