Job Title: Residential Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team at Cumberland Council. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

About the Role:

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a confident, self-motivated individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people. You will have the opportunity to build close relationships with the young people in our care, supporting them to have their voice heard in all aspects of their care planning and experience of living in the home.

As a Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for assessing each young person's needs and creating individual care plans. You will also work with challenging situations and behaviours, using your skills and knowledge to manage these situations effectively.

Requirements:
  • Experience working with children and young people, ideally in a residential setting
  • Minimum Level 3 in Residential Childcare or willingness to work towards this qualification
  • Good knowledge and understanding of managing challenging behaviours
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work as part of a close and supportive team
