Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Transport Planner Operator to join our team at Gregory Distribution. As a key member of our transport operation, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our fleet and the delivery of exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Transport Manager in managing and motivating the transport team to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Plan and organize transportation activities, including peak and off-peak periods, to maximize resource utilization.
  • Provide leadership on day-to-day transport issues, including dispatch debriefs and driver management.
  • Collaborate with customers to ensure seamless operation and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Monitor and audit Health and Safety protocols to ensure compliance.
  • Produce regular reports on customer-related matters and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Answer queries via email, phone, and face-to-face in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist in the production of KPIs and daily statistics, including POD emailing.
  • Support compliance planning and provide direct assistance during breakdowns.
  • Promote positive relationships with colleagues and contribute to a supportive team environment.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in the transport, warehouse, and logistics industry.
  • Strong understanding of legal compliance, driver's hours, and WTDs.
  • Leadership skills and a track record of leading successful change.
  • Proven customer relationship management skills.
  • Ability to present to senior stakeholders and customers.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • IT literacy, including MS Office, and strong analytical skills.
