Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Transport Planner Operator to join our team at Gregory Distribution. As a key member of our transport operation, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our fleet and the delivery of exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Transport Manager in managing and motivating the transport team to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Plan and organize transport operations, including peak and off-peak periods, to maximize resource utilization and minimize costs.
  • Provide leadership on day-to-day transport issues, including dispatch debriefs and driver management.
  • Collaborate with customers to ensure seamless operation and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Monitor and audit Health and Safety protocols to ensure compliance and minimize risks.
  • Produce regular reports and statistics to inform transport management decisions.
  • Assist with compliance planning and ensure adherence to company procedures.
  • Support breakdowns and provide assistance as needed.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and contribute to a strong team culture.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in the transport, warehouse, and logistics industry.
  • Strong understanding of legal compliance, driver's hours, and WTDs.
  • Leadership skills and ability to motivate teams.
  • Proven experience in customer relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • IT literacy, including MS Office, and analytical ability to review data and reports.
