About the Role

The Yellow Brick Road Early Years Centre is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Early Years Centre Cook Lead to join our team on a part-time, fixed-term contract basis. As the ideal candidate for this role, you will have a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices, with the ability to prepare high-quality meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook high-quality meals according to established recipes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
  • Assist in planning and preparation of meals, including portion control.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines while working in the kitchen.
  • Clear up and clean lunch tables in each of our 3 Nursery rooms, and wash all dishes.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Cook would be preferred.
  • Availability to work 9:30am to 1:30pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently during busy times.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • A passion for cooking.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.

Salary and Benefits

  • £12.00 per hour.
  • 20 hours per week.
  • Part-time, fixed-term contract.
  • Fixed-term contract duration: 12 months.
