We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Planning Specialist to join our Planning team. The successful candidate will have a strong track record working on medium to large-scale planning projects and demonstrate a high level of technical competency, and quality of work, together with good analytical, communication, interpersonal, and writing skills.

The role will require working on a number of projects, so a proven ability to manage your own time and workload within tight timescales, and ability to problem solve is critical. We place emphasis on staff development and encourage self-directed study and career progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing advice and guidance on planning and environmental matters to a variety of clients
  • Shaping and assessing the case for development projects
  • Site appraisals, pre-application consultation, and planning application preparation
  • Planning project management, including co-ordinating in-house and external technical teams
  • Community consultation and proposal preparation
  • Liaison with external parties, including developers, landowners, architects, engineers, and local authorities
  • Team supervision and advice

Requirements:

  • A relevant degree and a strong track record working on medium to large-scale planning projects
  • High level of technical competency, and quality of work, together with good analytical, communication, interpersonal, and writing skills
  • Ability to manage your own time and workload within tight timescales, and ability to problem solve
