We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Planning Specialist to join our Planning Team at Wardell Armstrong. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our clients' projects and contributing to the success of our business.

About the Role

We are looking for a talented and motivated individual with a strong background in environmental planning and a passion for sustainable development. As an Environmental Planning Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on planning and environmental matters to a variety of clients, including leading renewable energy developers, utility and infrastructure companies, waste management operators, house builders, land promoters, investment institutions, and others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing advice and guidance on planning and environmental matters to clients throughout all stages of the planning process
  • Shaping and assessing the case for development projects, including determining planning strategies, site appraisals, pre-application consultation, preparing planning applications and appeals, planning project management, community consultation, proposal preparation, and business development activities
  • Liaising with external parties, including developers, landowners, architects, engineers, local authorities, and the wider multi-disciplinary team
  • Team supervision and advice

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a relevant degree and a strong track record working on medium to large-scale planning projects. You will also need to demonstrate a high level of technical competency, quality of work, and good analytical, communication, interpersonal, and writing skills. The role will require working on a number of projects, so a proven ability to manage your own time and workload within tight timescales and ability to problem-solve is critical.
