The Opportunity:

We are looking for a talented individual to fill the role of Platform Safety Assurance Lead in our Barrow-in-Furness office. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the safety of our maritime systems.

About the Role:

  • You will support the production team in producing the safety Build Assurance Justification.
  • Review and assess the Safety Argument and Safety Evidence provided by BAE to ensure the platform meets design intent.
  • Liaise with the Barrow Safety Assurance Manager on any discrepancies between the Platform build and design intent.
  • Act as the MOD technical liaison with the Platform and Nuclear Propulsion build committees.
  • Provide the safety interface with the propulsion/reactor/ships/weapons Test Groups.

Your Qualifications:

  • Strong stakeholder management skillsets and experiences with senior board levels.
  • Programme management experience.
  • Previous experience in build assurance or maritime platforms of complex systems.
  • Good experience of technical risk management/governance procedures.
  • Degree within a STEM subject.
