About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager to join our team at Gilks (Nantwich) Ltd. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, customers, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and improve our QHSE management systems to meet ISO standards, including setting annual objectives and reviewing policies and procedures.
  • Complete SHEQ reports, site inspections, and attend regular client and company meetings to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of health and safety documents, regulations, and codes of practice.
  • Lead internal and external audits to ensure our organization meets the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental management.
  • Assist in the production, maintenance, and amendment of risk assessment method statements (RAMS) to ensure our operations are safe and compliant.
  • Complete inductions and risk assessments for new employees and contractors.
  • Review and approve sub-contractor RAMS and assist with new supplier and sub-contractor pre-approval information.
  • Maintain industry standards certifications and ensure our organization remains compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Record feedback and raise corrective actions and opportunities for improvement where non-conformances are identified.
  • Complete Face Fit and PAT testing, and organize the calibration of equipment, maintaining records and certifications.
  • Assist with training and development programs, including Toolbox Talks, ECS, and other relevant training.
Requirements
  • Experience leading audits in a similar HSE or health and safety role.
  • A NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health and Safety or similar qualification.
  • Good computer skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Willingness to be hands-on with tasks and contribute to the success of our organization.
