About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Care Officer to join our team at Acorn Lodge, a newly opened children's home for children aged 7-18 with disabilities.

As a Residential Care Officer, you will work under the supervision of the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, and Senior RCO, with delegated responsibility for more skilled practice.

You will play an active role in providing a warm, caring, and enabling environment that meets the emotional, social, and physical needs of the children living in the home.

The patterns of care and support in the home are based on the principles of autonomy, choice, privacy, dignity, and fulfillment, providing a foundation for good standards of care practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside the manager and homes team to provide a supportive and enabling environment for children
  • Undertake social care practice duties of a more skilled and difficult nature
  • Participate in sleep-in duties and work shifts as part of a rota
  • Collaborate with children, families, and partner agencies to provide a flexible and responsive service
