About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Child Care Officer to join our team at the City of Doncaster Council. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive home environment, fostering a sense of belonging and community among residents.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with children and young people, understanding their individual needs and preferences.
  • Participate in regular supervision and training to enhance your skills and knowledge, ensuring you are equipped to provide the best possible care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans, working closely with colleagues and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for residents.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with children and young people, preferably in a residential care setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, residents, and external agencies.
  • Flexibility and resilience to work within a rota that includes weekends and unsocial hours.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
