Job Title: Head of IT Services

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of IT Services to join our team at Torbay Council. As a key member of our Corporate Services directorate, you will play a major role in shaping the future of our organisation and providing first-class services to the communities we serve.

About the Role

The Head of IT Services will be responsible for leading the delivery of IT services across the Council and its wholly owned companies. This will involve developing and implementing strategies to improve service delivery, managing budgets, and ensuring the effective use of technology to support our operations.

You will work closely with our senior leadership team to identify business needs and develop solutions to meet those needs. You will also be responsible for building strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders to ensure our IT services meet their needs and the needs of the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of IT services across the Council and its wholly owned companies
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve service delivery
  • Manage budgets and ensure the effective use of technology
  • Work closely with senior leadership to identify business needs and develop solutions
  • Build strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have significant knowledge and understanding of IT delivery and the associated networks, applications, and controls required by a high-performing service. You will also need to share our ambitions for Torbay and be able to demonstrate a strong track record of delivering IT services in a similar context.
