About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and clinically skilled Deputy Chief Clinical Information Officer to join our team at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. This is a pivotal role in supporting the Chief Clinical Information Officer in leading the digital transformation of our clinical services, both in our acute hospital setting and across our community care services.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) team, Health Informatics Service (HIS), and other digital providers to ensure seamless integration and effective use of digital technologies in clinical settings.
  • Develop and execute a digital strategy that aligns with the Trust's overall objectives, focusing on improving patient care, safety, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with senior management to ensure that digital initiatives support clinical goals and improve patient outcomes.
  • Lead engagement initiatives to involve clinicians in the selection, development, and implementation of EPR modules and other digital tools and systems.
  • Facilitate feedback loops between clinical users and IT developers to ensure continuous improvement of digital services.

Requirements

  • Full GMC/GDC registration and appropriate College Membership/Fellowship
  • Experience in clinical practice and ideally experience in clinical management
  • Understanding of the approaches to continuous improvement in the delivery of healthcare
  • Significant demonstrable achievement in influencing colleagues to deliver targets and changes in working practices, while maintaining effective working relationships
  • Significant demonstrable achievement in advancement, development, and performance improvement of clinical services

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Detailed knowledge of financial and other targets
  • Clinical service Lead/Clinical Director or similar role
  • Leadership/management of clinical staff
  • Appreciation of wider healthcare management
  • National or regional experience in management
  • Experience of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
  • Associate Medical Director or similar role
  • Board level experience
