About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead our Electronic Patient Record (EPR) Programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of Epic across our service areas, leading a large, multi-disciplinary team to deliver clinical transformation and unlocking the potential for an integrated EPR system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote a positive change management and clinical transformation culture.
  • Be instrumental in guiding the organisation in the redesign of any organisational restructure, role design and/or skill mix requirements both during and following implementation.
  • Supported by the Chief Nursing Information Officer, Chief Clinical Information Officer and Senior Admin Information Officer, this post holds corporate responsibility for the provision of high-quality care enabled by the Epic EPR system.
  • To support the Chief Nursing Information Officer and Chief Clinical Information Officer at Organisational Programme level in the delivery of their associated professional portfolios for quality, safety and experience associated with the EPR Programme.
  • Undertake operational line management of the respective EPR Implementation Programme Team.
About Us

The newly formed EPR Team will consist of between 200-300 people during implementation, expanding to 400-600 at 'go-live'. Local teams will also be formed to ensure site specific requirements are met during the implementation.

  • Ensure good relationships with the local community, including assisting in the EPR engagement process as required.
  • Demonstrates, via effective communication, an extensive expert knowledge on a variety of disciplines such as Electronic Patient Record best practice, performance, finance, service and culture development, human resources, operations and clinical service delivery.
Requirements
  • Delivers assurance that all Electronic Patient Record programme delivery, transformation and strategy is underpinned by patient safety.
  • Not be intimidated by risks and pressure but able to navigate a safe route to success.
  • Able to operate effectively within statutory and regulatory frameworks ensuring good governance arrangements are in place to achieve this and to manage and mitigate risks.

  • Works with autonomy to interpret national Health and Social Care policies and translate these into strategy, goals, standards and policies for the Trust.
  • Reports to the Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Transformation Officer on corporate strategy development and adherence to corporate policy and standards advising on risks to delivery and supporting mitigations.
  • To lead on transformation initiatives relating to all aspects of the EPR Programme.
  • Advise and brief the One Devon Implementation Director, Executive and the EPR Programme Board on Trust and System strategy interpretation and associated operational delivery plans for the Electronic Patient Record Programme.
  • Corporate accountability for the operational and financial delivery of the EPR Programme.
  • Provide regular reports on EPR Programme progress and performance.
  • Proactive management of risks ensuring appropriate mitigating actions are taken.
  • Ensure oversight of EPR Programme planning, delivery and transformation.
  • Adherence to all Trust policies and Procedures.
